Metro Church has a large number of home school families within its church body that
believe home schooling children can be as challenging as it is rewarding. While
true, each of us needs to stay connected to one another for encouragement and for
information regarding the home school community. Metro’s members stay connected
and inform one another, primarily, through an email distribution list. If you are
interested in having your name on this list, please contact
Leslie Albaugh. Our
members home school using various means, curriculums, private schools, dual enrollment,
part-time enrollment and through Florida’s Virtual School.
In Florida, there are two ways to home school your student: 1.) Through the county,
or 2.) Through an “umbrella school” (private school). If you are interested in learning
about home schooling through the county, call the Home Education office in your
county for additional information. (Orange County — 407.317.3314 or Seminole County
— 407.320.7850) There are several “umbrellas schools” in the Orlando area.
One of the “umbrella schools” in this area is Circle Christian School. Metro Church
provides one of the many campuses for Circle Christian School on Mondays, Wednesdays
and Thursdays. Circle Christian School provides resources and tools to parents to
assist them in their investments of character training and academic excellence.
If you are interested in pursuing this option, please contact Circle Christian School
at 407-740-8877 for more information. They register students only March through
June.
